Despite a lack of blog posts lately, there have been things happening behind the scenes here, I’ve just been a little slack in blogging about it! So here goes:
First up you might notice a new blog header – and a new name! If you were lucky enough to view my blog in the past half hour, you might have seen 10 different versions ;-) it’s only been a year since I changed it last time – although that involved a whole move over from Blogger, so a new name was necessary – and had to be chosen quite fast! My blog address may change too, but I’ll let you all know when that happens.
This new name has come about because of a new idea I have been working on for a few months (and has been lurking in my brain for around a year) – a little online shop! I have been busy collecting bits and pieces for my store, and if all goes to plan, it should include craft supplies, stationery, some gifts and even some homewares. I am quite excited about the whole idea, and will let you know when it’s up and running in a few weeks time. There may even be a little giveaway to celebrate the opening.
What could be in the boxes?!
I will continue to sell my own handmade items through Etsy for a while yet, still deciding if there will be a name change there too.
In other happenings, progress on our house is going well! The persistent rain last week did slow things down a little bit – and this week the weather is much of the same. We have a bottom storey frame though, and a second storey floor. So it’s looking like more of a house.

As for crafty endeavours, I’m waiting for some more Liberty fabric to sew some more bunting, and I have some scarves ready to sew as well. I just need some more thread, but due to a house full of sick children (and now me), over the past 2 weeks unessential trips to the shops have been delayed for a bit. The extra home days have been most welcome though.
I did have some fun with the Liberty leftovers, and some plain kids t-shirts I found hidden in my drawers. There are two baby ones in my Etsy shop, and I also made one for Izzy:
I also have two quilts ready to bind, I picked these two up from the quilting lady recently. I am so happy with the result, and glad I left it to a professional. It has been around 3 years since I finished the quilt top of the one on the top, hopefully it won’t take me as long to get the binding finished!
The crocheted granny stripe blanket has also been cast aside momentarily, as I’m working on getting another blanket finished for my sister as a belated birthday present. She is visiting soon, so then I can deliver it personally. I wish I could share a sneak peek as I love it so much, but I know she does occasionally stalk my blog. I look forward to sharing it in around 3 weeks!
The cat delayed progress on the blanket last night, in our family the motto is ‘let sleeping cats lie’, she gets rather feisty if you try to move her!
As a family, without going into too much detail, we have also been dealing with some major health concerns relating to my father-in-law. However, we continue to firmly put our trust in the Lord despite the difficulties and be thankful for the small blessings every day.
And so ends my bits and pieces post, thank-you if you made it this far!
